Original title: acer aspire one 722 battery died on standby, won't charge, got new battery, same thing, can't find updates for 722,pc 2 yr oldHows that for a question?I started with 2 cans and a string now its internet.I've searched my problem doing the hold power button down to get it to 'reset'.Other Aspire One's have updates to fix this normal problem, fall asleep with netbook on in standby modeand have the battery die.I don't know how to get my files out so I can send it to India and back.I want to go to India not my netbook!I did get a new battery from India but that didn't help. Does anyone have any simple way for me to get my netbook to detectmy battery and to get it to charge like it use to?I do know how to copy/paste if that helps show my skill level. Hi,I would suggest you to try these steps and check.a. Turn the laptop off completely.b. Take out the battery from the underside.c. Let the battery sit out of the laptop for 5 - 10 minutes.d.
Plug the AC adapter back in the laptop (still keep the battery out).e. Turn on the system and let it fully boot into Windows.f. Once it gets to the desktop, allow it to launch all startup items.
In other words, do not interrupt the startup process until everything is prepared.g. Then go ahead and turn off the computer normally (by using the START Turn off Computer method).h.
Once the system is powered off, plug the battery back in and turn on the computer. For reference: Solutions to common battery problemsI would suggest you to back up all the data if you are able to start the computer successfully before sending the laptop for service. If the issue persists, I would suggest you to contact Acer Support for better assistance.Hope this information is helpful. Acer Aspire laptop M5-583P-6423 (internal non-removal battery): This battery worked/charged without issue until windows 10 upgrade. Now the laptop must be plugged in to the AC adapter at all times and the battery shows 'plugged in, not charging'.I have tried the following, yet nothing has resolved the issue:1) Updating Microsoft ACPI driver software. (nope b/c it is up to date)2) Uninstalling Microsoft ACPI from Device Manager & scan for changes to reinstall. (reinstalls fine, battery still doesn't charge)3) Uninstalling from Device Manager, restarting laptop to auto detect & reinstall. (again, reinstalls fine & battery still doesn't charge)4) Unplugging, pressing the built in battery reset button, & reconnecting. (not this either)According to the energy diagnostics report I ran, everything is balanced with no efficiency problems found yet the battery information (shown below) indicates a problem, as does the error message (also below) which indicate that the recent upgrade to Windows10 has damaged my laptop. If this update pushed to my laptop has 'a known incompatibility with the hardware' may I inquire as to what the known fix is to resolve the issue? I cannot continue to use my laptop as a desktop.Thank you Design Capacity53352Last Full Charge54644.
Hi,In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things. What happens exactly when you plug in the charger to the laptop?
Hi,1) when the charger is plugged into the laptop it functions normally with the exception of a ' plugged in, not charging' message only when the battery/power icon specifically is reviewed. There is noerror message at all. If the charger is not plugged in the computer does not boot. If it is taken out during computer use, the computer immediately shuts down without warning or error message.2) Yes, all windows updates have been installed. There are no additional updates available and no previous update has resolved the issue.I did review the Acer website and the latest chipset driver was from July 2015, however I did download and install anyway.
It also did not resolve the issue.I appreciate the help - are there other suggestions for a fix?
And this is crazy!!!I have a Acer Aspire E 13, but this solution might as it seems also work on other models (and brands?).It takes 1 second to fix, so here goes:TAP 3 TIMES ON THE GRATE OF THE FAN (on the bottom of the computer)Is that crazy or not? From '0% connected charging' it changed to '2 hours 14 min to full charge', and then to counting up ('6%' and so on.)What the. is going on?
Maybe Acer should provide a crank in the box instead?I should also point out that there are several other people that solved it in the same way. Since this new models don't have a removable battery, they've installed a little micro switch under the bottom hatch so if you were to take the cover off to replace ram or HDD the battery gets disconnected for safety reasons.
There's a little rubber pad on the bottom cover that presses a little micro switch and if that rubber pad escaped the switch won't be pressed and battery wont work. Also that little switch might get dirty inside from dust and you may try putting a drop of cleaning alcohol on it and tap it a few times. Thanks for the solution! Battery is down to 10%, but it will not charge. Destiny rise of iron soundtrack download.
What is happening. The machine is only a month old.On an E15, E5-532 I had a battery stuck at '44%, charging,' and it also wouldn't power the machine. Very strange situation. I learned about the battery reset button, which while a clever idea seems to have a problem in this unit.
Mine was stuck in the down position, it seemed. There was no movement, no 'click' when I pressed the button. So I took a chance and pried the button frame up a touch from the motherboard.
Acer Laptop Battery Won't Charge
As soon as I booted back up, the battery now said ' until fully charged'. I'm watching it now, and it is up to 85% and continuing to charge, ETA being 36 minutes. So it seems a batch of the reset buttons are defective, were stuck in the reset position, and were shorting out the charging circuit.

For most units, it was a delicate enough situation that a tap on the case bottom freed up the button. In my case, it took a more serious measure to solve the problem. I also put a spot of glue on the Reset hole so the next guy won't reinstate the problem.
Hii hv read your problem and it is surely the case of gone battery. There are two solutions to this problem.1. Replace the battery with a new one.2. Recharge your battery (bt it is not a good choice as the battery will work fine for some time only).and one very important thing i would like to suggest that if you are working with your system with power cord connected please remove the battery as the back voltage will effect some IC's.if you find the solution helpful please give me good ratingthnxPosted on Jul 01, 2009.
